Textile practitioners (Federal Certificate of Vocational Education and Training) work in industrial textile production businesses, namely in spinning/threads, ropes and lifting technology, weaving, knitting, non-woven fabrics, embroidery, and in ready-made clothing or finishing companies.
They manufacture textile products or tailor technical textiles, depending on the specific orientation of the business. They procure materials, regulate equipment and monitor ongoing production.
To start an apprenticeship as a textile practitioner you must have completed elementary school. Manual dexterity and an interest in textile materials is also required.
