A website is an important means of representation for companies and often constitutes the point of first contact with customers. To make a good first impression the website must be professionally designed and built, be reputable in terms of content and always kept up to date. A site’s content can be updated, maintained and replaced with the help of a content management system (CMS). In this module, students will be made familiar with a CMS and will become proficient in its use.
In addition, basic insights into of web design and knowledge of the appropriate terminology will facilitate clear and productive communication with service providers if the website is not created and hosted in-house.

Participants will receive a confirmation of attendance on completion of the module.
This module can form part of a HF (college of higher education/BSc degree course); it will be considered to have been passed if the assessment process stipulated in the graduation regulations is successfully completed.

For participating HF (college of higher education/BSc degree) students, the cost of one elective module per quarter is included in the semester fees.
