This internationally recognised advanced training in the field of textile sustainability management is unique in German-speaking countries. Participants learn about methods, models, and mindsets to support sustainable business practices within the textiles and clothing industry.
Sustainable business practices in the textiles and clothing industry are a key advantage in international competition. Graduates are able to apply their specialist knowledge to the planning of sustainability strategies. Their expertise enables them to confidently conduct expert discussions with management personnel in marketing, production, research, and development.
The CAS Sustainability Management in Textiles advanced training is designed to prepare graduates for the following scope of duties.
- responsibility for CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) within the company
- strategic realignment of processes, business models and products in all matters concerning sustainability
- sustainable product engineering in the specialised fields of design development and construction
- management of innovation teams and complex projects
- R&D activities in sustainability
- design and implementation of sustainability projects
- sustainable communication management
Along the textile chain, social, ecological and economic sustainability issues are addressed. Following an introduction to the principles of sustainability, the course focuses on social responsibility, initiatives, standards, and product-based environmental performance evaluation. Textile chemistry and the correct choice of fibre are also discussed. Finally, the CAS explores the topics of sustainability communication, practical applications, and innovative future scenarios. Lecturers from partner institutes contribute important professional experience and provide lectures with practice-related context. This advanced training is enriched by selected guest speakers, and excursions.

120 lectures with on-campus teaching, Friday from 10.30 am – 6.00 pm and Saturday from 8.00 am – 3.25 pm.
